Ecnonomic impact - The cost of damages done is estimated more than US$600million. Insurers will be suffering a great loss as they could not afford all the insurance fees. This will result in the economic downturn in the stock market in Mumbai. The Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange had closed down due to the terrorist attacks. Many international airlines temporarily closed down too. Many businesses had to move out of Mumbai due to the loss of customers. However some analysts feel that the economic impact will not last for long. However, it does not have a lasting impact.

social impact - The attacks caused widespread anger among the Indian public and condemnations throughout the world. The attacks have affected India's already strained relationship with Pakistan.

political impacts - Many political leaders resigned as they are believed to be in cahoots with the terrorist group. The political impact is quite large as the people wants to have a fool proof plan to ensure their safety

    Economic Impact

    1. As stock markets of different countries are interlinked, hence when one country is affected by terrorism, another country would be indirectly affected. For instance, due to the Bali bombing incident, people stopped travelling to the country and thus resulted in a drop in the tourism stock markets.
When there are terrorism attacks in a country, it would deter foreign investors from setting up or expanding their business in the areas. This is a direct cost of low gross domestic income in such countries because there are no jobs available to generate income for the country.

    Social Impact

    1. The normal social life gets totally disturbed and a huge number of innocent lives go in vein. This results in fear and terror which haunts everybody and the productivity of people is miserably stalled.

    2. Crime rates (robberies etc) increases due to increasing number of refuges; Social evils such as drug abuse became common.

    Environmental Impacts:

    1. Spewing toxic clouds of lethal chemicals into the air.

    2. Large scale of heat generated in the country and thermal wave was also created by the sudden release of heat, affecting public health, industries, agriculture and air.

  20. Social Impact
1)Strengthens the resolve of government and communities to implement new measures and programme to counter terrorism
    2) Acts of terrorism can create feeling of animosity and suspicion among the various ethnic and religious group believing in the country. This causes social conflict and may lead to explosive race riot. This threat is particularly pervasive in the multi-ethnic country. Frequent terrorist attack may cause inhabitant of that country to feel threatened and traumatised.

    Political Impact
1)Government face much pressure to prevent terrorist acts and to relieve the hardship caused by terrorism. Thus Government faced pressure from both sides which may cause a shift in power in some countries.
2)This pressure on the state may result in several complications and may encourage more of such attacks.

    Economic Impact
1)There is a loss of faith and confidence of consumers in prospective investors. This causes economic loss to the country.
2)Tourism suffers as tourists avoid the areas that have been recently attacked by terrorist.
